RAW Woodworks is a Vancouver Island based artisan company producing unique and handcrafted items.  We specialize in beautiful, distressed wood bowls created from reclaimed wood pieces and burls found locally and

brought to us by friends and family.  The distinctiveness of the distress and natural aspects of each wood is what makes each a beautiful piece of art.

Making a bowl is a time involved process, first to find a unique piece of wood or burl then start the process of drying which sometimes can take up to a year.  Once you have the shape, it's turning and sanding to get the size and finished shape you desire. 

Knots, bug holes, and veins make the bowl more interesting and one of a kind.  Creating a finish can take many, many coats of product as each wood has different porous qualities and the finish is very time consuming as you brush on, spray and sand numerous coats to get the perfect finished product.
